Snow in Norway

Greetings, sorry for the absence in blogging. I’m still physically and spiritually recovering from my travels in Norway, Safa Hovinen has some excellent pictures from the Vikings Youth Conference here.

I just noticed this news article by the BBC, which talks about a museum depicting the origin of humans made by Christian Creationists in America. For me Abdul-Baha sheds a great deal of spiritual and scientifical light on evolution, on the issue of evolution and descent of man from animal He said:

…all these endless beings which inhabit the world, whether man, animal, vegetable, mineral—whatever they may be—are surely, each one of them, composed of elements… It is confirmed through evidences and proofs that every being universally acts upon other beings, either absolutely or through association. Finally, the perfection of each individual being—that is to say, the perfection which you now see in man or apart from him, with regard to their atoms, members or powers—is due to the composition of the elements, to their measure, to their balance, to the mode of their combination, and to mutual influence. When all these are gathered together, then man exists.

Welcome back from Norway. Nice little post about evolution. If the creationists would some of ‘Abdu’l-Baha they might find a balanced and rational view of human origins that would appeal to a wide and diverse audience. May your blog show the way.
